I LOVE blogging challenges! It does exactly what it is supposed to do – challenge me.
I’ve done a couple in the past and I love a good challenge. Sometimes it’s just a challenge to blog daily. And I admit that I have scheduled posts to meet that daily requirement. And that’s okay. In fact, I will be out of town a couple of days during the first week of this challenge so I will have some posts pre-written and scheduled.
So….what’s my subject?
Well, I am on a journey of self-discovery.
This is not a new thing. I am often searching for myself. I discovered a few years ago that I had pretty much lost sense of who I am. It happens to most moms. You know, “What’s your favorite color to wear?”, and the first thing you think of is what color won’t show baby spit. Or I opt for patterned couches because I have young kids instead of a pretty pastel one like I really want. Pretty soon, you lose all of your opinions and resort to whatever is convenient for the entire family. Then one day you realize when you are asked something about yourself, that you really have no idea what you want or like or even need anymore.
Recently I watched the pilot of Blacklist. James Spader’s character asked the young agent to profile herself. She paused and then stated she was top of her class, her accomplishments, etc. He interrupted her and said, “No, that’s your resume. Profile yourself.” Most of us, myself included, could not profile ourselves. I know I could quickly list qualifications for a resume, but how others would classify me? Most times, I’m not even sure how I would classify myself.
So, I have a book and I am going to share some of the lists with you. Feel free to participate if you want. You can answer in your comments, or make a post yourself and let me know cause I would love to see your answers too!! (I’ll share the book info on day #1)
