Even though I don’t really make resolutions anymore, and opt for doing a Word of the Year, I do still make goals. After all, if you plan to go nowhere, that’s exactly where you will end up. Right? Goals should be measurable and specific. And doable.
This is the year I will be healthy! I actually started a diet lifestyle change last October. (Okay, I really started last February and I could kick myself to not sticking with it because I would LOVE to be celebrating my Trimaversary next month and I know I would be at goal weight. Or at least, very, very close to it.) I rather quickly lost 20 pounds and then have lost and regained the same 2 pounds since December. I blame that on stress and holidays. And well, life. Each Wednesday, I do a Wednesday Weekly Weigh In post. It is mainly to keep me on focus and accountable. I even posted this week when I gained. However, knowing that I will post again next Wednesday, it has motivated me to stay on plan since then. And I have. It’s still a little difficult and that’s only because it’s hard for me to stay home right now and being out tempts me to eat out. Ugh.
So, here’s my goals for 2016:
- Menu plan every week. I know this is the single biggest thing that guarantees my success. I can really tell the difference when I am just flying by the seat of my pants without a plan.
- Get more sleep. I struggle with this one a lot. I automatically wake up after four hours. Sometimes even sooner. But I am trying to make myself try to go back to sleep and get at least six hours.
- Praying. Yes, that is a wellness goal. When I pray regularly, my stress levels drastically reduce. And stress causes my headaches and muscle aches. That’s not good or enjoyable.
I know that’s only three goals but if I can just stick to those, I know I will see the biggest results.
What are you health/wellness goals for 2016?
