Have you heard of Ultimate Bundles before? It’s just the amazing opportunity that comes around for a very, very short amount of time where you can get amazing deals on ebooks, courses and bonuses. Each bundle sale has a focus – DIY, health, etc. And the one going on RIGHT NOW is ….PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
Personally, I love photography. But I feel like for me, it’s very similar to sewing. No matter how many classes I’ve taken and what great gear I own, I can never feel comfortable enough with my skills to get past “beginner”. That doesn’t stop me from trying and I am determined to overcome this!
Purchasing a bundle makes it easier too. The bundles have some of the very best authors and teachers and during this fantastic sale, you get access dirt cheap! What a deal!!
I personally purchased the Intermediate level bundle (there’s Beginner, Intermediate and Business). The are tiered so each level up includes the previous level’s goodies and then what’s for that level too.
Although I am super excited about all of these, here’s some that I’ve been waiting on and immediately started reading as soon as I received my bundle!!
The first was not a book, it’s actually a video course taught by JP Pullos. He teaches how to use my Nikon intuitively. (There’s a separate course dedicated to Canon.) Which is great because I struggle with memorization. And even though I am an excellent note-taker, I don’t want to have to carry my notebook and read my notes before I take every single picture! I’m about halfway through so far and stopped in the middle of my course when I realized I really need to be sharing this with everyone!! You know, especially since the sale doesn’t last very long!
The main reason I even purchased a DSLR in the first place was to take pictures of my family. I hate staged portraits and I am really, really bad about making the appointments and going to have them done. I know families that take pictures at least yearly. We don’t. The majority of my family pics are done on the fly. With my cell phone. But I really do want to take more pictures – great pictures but pictures that show our life. That’s what the next book I want to share, excites me. Just the title – The Unexpected Everyday. My most favorite picture I’ve even taken of my son was him helping his dad build our outdoor shed. He was about three at the time and had a little toy shovel. He was leaning against the door frame and the light was just perfect. Not staged. No filter. I didn’t even have to edit. It was “unexpected everyday”.
If you read my blog regularly, you know I love to share recipes. I would love to be one of those great food bloggers. And even though I might could keep up with some of them culinary-wise, my pictures will never support that! I can make an amazing dish and yet the photo is just …well, not very appetizing. I bought a book once only because I loved the food photography in it. The recipes didn’t even really appeal to me but the photography was breathtaking. In the beginner level, there is not just one, but two book dedicated to food photography – Tasty Food Photography and Eat Pretty Things. I always tell my kids that pretty food tastes better. I immediately started the Eat Pretty Things book, the pictures are amazing! And I love how honest she is that she she struggled with good food photography when she first started. Gives me a little hope because now…she’s like..”wow”.
Golden Hours is included in the Intermediate level bundle. I love, love, love taking pictures of sunsets. I’m sure sunrises would be great too, but unfortunately, they usually happen too early for me. Last summer, I went to Jupiter Beach and the sunsets were amazing! I took at least a hundred pictures. Some of them were okay. But none of them portrayed what I was actually seeing.
And the last book I want to share is The Art of Black and White Photography. This is actually a seven hour course. Yeah, seven hours. Dedicated to the amazing beauty of black and white photography. I actually have a dream to have a wall in my house full of only gorgeous blank and white photographs.Ones that I took. And that have a great story behind them. And this will help me get there.
Those are just a few that I am super-duper excited about. But the bundles include soo, sooo, much more!! Want to see?
