(For a complete index of all 31 days series, check out Day 1)
First, I just got say something about this series. I was so excited to join in with The Nester to participate. And it was a challenge for me. I have a problem with being consistent. I seldom follow through doing anything. Not a fact that I am proud of, I admit. I would be embarrassed if you knew exactly how many unfinished projects I have piling up around me.
Update…it’s confession time. although I (thought) I had posted every day, I forget to update the index daily. Which is how I have now realized that I did skip day 26. But I did post that day….just not part of the 31 day series. And I posted more on the previous day, other than just the post for the series. So I had to do some tweaking.
But….it is day 29, I only have 2 days left and I have a topic for each of them!! Spoiler alert: tomorrow is about nightmares and for Halloween? epitaphs.
I guess I’m not the only one that has a problem with follow-through. I actually had enough free time last night that I went back to 31 Days master list to visit more participants. There were so many that have already stopped! Some stopped before even two weeks was up. And some of those were series that I was enjoying. Boo.
List the details of your childhood bedroom:
1) My bedroom furniture was a big deal. I had shared a room with my sister until I was about ten years old. Then we moved and I had my own room. And if that isn’t exciting enough, I remember going to the furniture store and was able to pick out my own bedroom set. It was wonderful. I got a headboard with bookshelves for all my books. (I think I’ve always been a book addict.) And the dresser had little shelves on the side of the mirror when I could display my latest collection. (I think it was seashells at that time.)
2. Stereo system. No little iPod here. Nope, this was back in the day when we had a full system that covered the entire top of the chest of drawers. It had a record player, double cassettes, and an AM/FM radio.
3. Posters. Now we are fast forwarding a few years….What teen girl’s room would not be complete without a wall of posters?? I was rather picky, instead of having tons of different guys, I had tons of just a few guys. Rick Springfield. Shaun Cassidy. John Stamos. Hmmmm, and I think there was a lot of pictures of them in black leather jackets.
I hadn’t thought of that wall, or my bedroom, in years. Then this past weekend, I was browsing an antique mall with a friend and guess what I saw?
Why is Shaun Cassidy displayed in an antique mall??!!! He’s from my childhood. I’m not old enough to have anything from any time in my life displayed in an antique anything!!! Ugh.
Wake up call….Adena….you’re getting old.
