For almost a year, I had been suffering with my hands. They were dry, cracked, bleeding, and itching. Severely. I had tried so many products. Including prescriptions. Nothing helped. So, when I was offered a chance to review products from Koru Naturals, I admit I was very skeptical. I received Pure Emu Oil and New Zealand Pure and Simple Lanolin Cream.
According to the 2 fluid ounce bottle that I received, Emu oil has been used for thousands of years as a skin and hair moisturizer and to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I did a little bit of research to see how I best wanted to use this oil. The oil has been shown to reduce the appearance of dark spots. I think I have noticed some fading on the back of my hands; however, the before photos I took for that were stored on my laptop which crashed. The studies did show that the oil needed to be used for at least two months. I’ve only been using the oil for the spots for about a month. Emu oil should not be applied to broken skin. That’s why I used the lanolin cream first. Once my skin was healed, then I started using the Emu oil.
However, what I have noticed is that I can use this as a moisturizer and it feels amazing. I thought it would feel greasy. Oily. But it didn’t. I applied it before I went to bed (only takes a drop) and the next morning I could tell that my face was so soft.
Pure and Simple New Zealand Lanolin Cream
This cream has been my lifesaver. When I first received it, my hands were a disaster. Here’s a little history – I get these little itchy blisters. They pop, leak, and the blisters spread. The skin around it gets extremely dry and crusty. They crack and bleed. I don’t know what causes this and once my fingers start breaking out, it continues for sometimes as long as a year. Doctors do not know what causes it and only prescribe steroid cream. Which barely helps. All I know is when I get stressed out, the rash becomes so unbearable. I live on Benadryl to help curb the itching. This is why I was skeptical when I first received the lanolin cream.
The cream feels so soothing. I was afraid that it would burn since my skin was broken. But it didn’t. It calmed the itching. I was addicted to it. I kept it by my side for two weeks. I still continued to take my Benadryl but I could miss doses without any problems. And then I didn’t really need to take any more. My skin started healing. The cuts closed up. The blisters diminished. My hands are soft. And that says a lot. Not only do I struggle with the unexplained itching but my hands suffer other harsh elements – hot water dish washing, handling lots of paper that dries my skin out.
You can see from the photos how my hands were affected. The after photos show the cuts closed. I still have deep lines but they are no longer cracked. And my skin is soft.
The Lanolin Cream sells for $8.95. The Emu oil sells for $9.85 for the 2 oz bottle. Other sizes are available. Be sure to check out the website for discounts available.
