Well, we have officially finished our first full complete week of homeschooling for the new school year!
Here’s a little recap:
- I decided to change our history curriculum after all. I couldn’t find all of the resources for what we were going to use, most of the links and resources that are provided for it are no longer in existence, and it was to time intensive for me with what else we are doing. I have decided to do Mystery of History Volume 1. I’ve heard great things about MOH and very excited to be using it. Our first week has gone great. I get to teach both boys together and the text and activities have been very engaging. Crossing my fingers that the rest of the year will be as good as this first week has been. We do MOH on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.
- We completed Module 1 in our Apologia Physical Science. It had several experiments so of course, it was well received. Jeremiah sat in on our experiments but I think most of the rest of the lesson was over his head. I spend extra time going over measurements and making that section a little more “hands-on” to help him.
- We finally went and got haircuts. (And everyone that knows us personally, say “YEA!!!”) I usually just buzz the boys’ hair myself but we went to a barbershop and a salon. (Jared didn’t want me to take his picture but I’m sure I can sneak one in soon.)
- We’ve been working on some new stuff for reviews so be sure you subscribe so you don’t miss anything. The boys and I are especially LOVING a biography that we are currently reading! You know it’s good when they ask for me to read “just one more chapter”.
I will try to do a weekly recap to share our homeschool week. In all honesty, I usually start off strong and then it winds down. Not everything we do is “photo opp”. I’ve also been having server issues again which means I’m not sure when I can even get online to post 🙁 Hopefully, it will get straightened out soon and I can post more than once a week! ugh.
